BENICIA, Solano County — October 25, 2026. Benicia has posted a detailed October 26–27 chip-seal work schedule as part of its 2026 citywide pavement rehabilitation program. Drivers and residents on the named streets should prepare for temporary access restrictions, marked no-parking areas and possible detours. The schedule is subject to weather and construction conditions; check the City of Benicia’s current roads page before traveling.

Monday, October 26: Streets on the schedule

The city’s listed segments are Cambridge Drive (Hastings to Capitol), Baylor Court (Cambridge to its end), Winston Court (Cambridge to its end), Cooper Drive (Capitol to its end), Capitol Drive (Hastings to Cambridge), Byron Court (Cooper to its end), Sargent Court (Cooper to its end) and Rose Drive (Cambridge to Columbus).

Tuesday, October 27: Additional work areas

Tuesday’s list covers Devonshire Drive (Hastings to the second driveway and Southampton to Stuart), London Circle (midpoint to end), Cheryl Drive (Drolette to West Seventh), Anita Circle, George Court, Landahl, Fry Court, Drolette Way, Goettel Court and Corrigan Court. Use the project’s official schedule for precise segments; street names alone do not mean every block is affected.

When can residents drive or park?

According to the project notice, construction on the listed chip-seal days is planned for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Road access may remain possible before crews reach a specific street, but once chip seal is applied, the city says a 30-minute curing period is required before parking and roadway access can resume. Follow posted NO PARKING and ROAD CLOSED signs and any directions from traffic-control workers.

Project scope and funding

The city’s 2026 pavement rehabilitation contract lists a cost of $5,283,795 and funding from gas tax, the Solid Waste Vehicle Impact Fee and Measure F. The city identifies Team Ghilotti Inc. as the contractor and anticipates completing the broader rehabilitation project in October, though a target completion month is not proof all work is finished.

Residents can follow revised schedules and official notices on the Benicia Public Works roads page. If a street is blocked unexpectedly, use the city’s non-emergency reporting channels rather than assuming an entire neighborhood is closed.
